He is the eldest son of Prince Mohamed bin Fahd bin Saud, the eldest surviving son of the late King Fahd (+2005) who was former governor of the Eastern Provinces and Jawahir bint Nayef, sister of the actual Crown Prince. From 1998 he attended the King Faisal University, a public institution in the city of Hofuf in Al-Hassa, where he graduated in 2002 as a lawyer.
